So I know I haven't submitted anything in a long time, that's partly because I've been unmotivated and partly because I've been stumped working on several pieces. This one included. At the moment, I'm still trying to figure out a fitting background, I have ideas, but nothing that is really making me go "ZOMGYES!" And if it doesn't make me do that, it ain't happening. Also, I'm playing with magical effects, the one I've got doesn't show direction very well so that's a problem.

Anyway, I'm open to suggestions if you've got any, if you're familiar with Poser that helps too, especially if you can suggest a product or freebie that would fit what I need.

Well, I can definitely relate to feeling "unmotivated" with project overloads. This render is quiet exquisite. Her armor is well detailed and appears to be suiting for an intermediate 3-D animations artist. I do have a few suggestions, however I do not make any 3-D animations but do have slight knowledge about them. Her dress and shoes are the same materiel as her skin tone, causing the render to appear unfinished or undressed as I would call it. I firmly believe that the skin tone is perfect for a demon character, and it suits her well. However, with the shoes and dress having the same material I feel it degrades the details of this model a little. On a different note, she has a great mouth expression but you did forget to express her eyebrows as well, commonly forgotten, but it does add so much more feel to the characteristics of a person and their action/scene you are trying to portray to the audience. I see below you said "I just can't figure out the scenery for her." It is always important to start of knowing what it scene you imagine her in, so you may add the pose and expressions as well as lighting accordingly. All in all, it is so much fun to watch artists such as yourself grow in the art industry and I praise you for your might, so keep on rocking the Poser and I wish to see you develop even further.

Her skin and clothing aren't the same material, but you're right that they do have the same color and tones. I was aiming for a look that made most of her feel like snow, but one without any of the rainbows or prettyness that snow usually includes. And I did have an idea for a setting, but to be honest the 3D resources I wanted didn't materialize until later, and I couldn't afford them.

A lot of people argue to build the world first, but frankly I work backwards. I'm a much better character designer than I am world designer, so I build a character, figure out who, what they are, and then design a world into which that can fit. I realize I'm getting into a level of scale on that subject that isn't this, but for the writing I do(which is what I do now), the world revolves around the characters to a large extent.
